I'm already thinking about the next project, even though I haven't done the gearbox swap on the Fiat yet. (Doing that, Saturday morning...)

Anyway, I think I want one of these, since my grandmother had one that I adored when I was in elementary school..

Same color and rough paint and all, although without the Cali tags... Tennessee, all the way!

Anyway, that car cemented my love of cars, and I want one, desperately. The S10-generation are impossible to find, though.

It's not, actually. It's a Datsun 200SX. (S10 Silvia, for the JDM freaks...)

As for the Fiat, she's a 124 Spider that is about to get the transmission from a 131 Mirafiori. :)

1978 Datsun 200SX, otherwise known as the S10 Silvia. :)

Trust me, you don't. They were shitty cars made at a shitty time in automotive history. The would become known for their decals.

Slam it. Paint it matte army green. Have it on diamond steelies and make some box flares. Get euro style bumpers and shave the side trim and side markers. Throw in an RB26 or 13B. Have the most unique thing ever.

that looks like a fun project. the Fiat transmission swap sounds interesting. Is it the same transmission from a different model? I've done a clutch on my 124. all in all it's not bad. there are a few bolts you have to by feel with a 24" extension and a wobbly drive but all in all not bad.

It's a different, much stronger transmission. All steel internals, and a bit differently-shaped case.

You have to beat out clearance in a couple of places to get it to fit, cut a new hole for the shifter and use the driveshaft from an automatic Spider, but you get an unbreakable transmission as a result.

sounds great. I was unaware of this. I'll have to look into it. Thanks.
